Condition 8503 and tourist visas from Manila

Condition 8503 means No Further Stay, and it used to be a "standard" on nearly every tourist visa grant from Philippines to Australia issued out of Manila. Is this still the case? Please watch.

Up until about 3 years ago (this is Feb 2017 now), we at Down Under Visa used to warn all of our visitor visa clients to expect a Condition 8503, which would prevent them from making further visa applications inside Australia. This included onshore tourist visas and onshore partner visas applied-for inside Australia. Now, happily, our clients can do this freely and whilst an 8503 remains at the discretion of the Case Officer, it appears to be out of fashion now.

Note that Condition 8503 is mandatory with sponsored family visitor visa stream tourist visas.
