These days? Since they stopped issuing Condition 8503 (No Further Stay) to nearly all tourist visa grants from Manila, maybe half our partner visa applications are onshore, ie lodged inside Australia. The obvious advantages are that the visa applicant can remain inside Australia during the processing on a bridging visa.
