Resident Return Visas and Citizenship changes

If you are an Australian permanent resident and need to travel outside Australia and return, you need a Resident Return Visa or you won't be allowed back in. Essential information especially with the new changes to citizenship applications.

When a visa applicant is granted a permanent visa (partner visa or other), they are issued with a 5 year resident return visa which allows them to return to Australia if they travel overseas. Citizenship rules have changed in April 2017, which will make it harder for many Filipino and Filipina permanent resident visa holders to achieve, so many will need to rely on resident return visas.
